Hello! Welcome to the thirteen installment of Son of Thunder!

Okay, so... anything interesting happen in your neck of the woods? ;)

I've had an interesting couple of weeks.

It started when I went out to stay with my grandmother, since my parents were going to Lourdes with a church group the same time my sister was going to Rome for her anniversary, leaving no one on that side of the country.

The second night I was there, she had a kidney stone attack. And sepcis, when everything bad backs up into your bloodstream. And heart failure. And a stroke.

Needless to say, I got very little sleep that week.

My brother Chris, a doctor in the very system Clair was using, flew out at the end of the week, and with assurances the danger had passed I went on to San Diego for one of our largest conventions (having only nine people in the entire company, you gotta do what you gotta do).

Although we worked from seven in the morning until midnight (lots of external events and training) and were some fifteen miles outside of the city (and you thought the con was bad!) and I was keeping in tough with Clair's doctors and Chris and eventually my parents returning home - it wasn't really so bad.

Now, it could be that I just never had the money when I went to conventions, but parking, all day, was either five or eight bucks. There were plenty of garages. The food in the convention center was actually pretty decent, even the hot dogs. Fast food was only a couple of blocks away, and there are tons of new hotels and condos down there. Fom what we could see the city is turning into a first class tourist area.

Oh, it's got a ways to go yet, but wow, have they made progress!

In other news, I cleaned the garage.

No kidding, it was full of all the remains of my previous life. Over the course of weeks, a family friend hammered up shelves and I cleared out everything and it looks pretty darn good. Of course, now Maggie can see just how many comic books I've accumulated over the years.

A lot.

Any ideas on selling them, in bulk or singly, contact me, please?

By the way, ten years ago or so I established that Americana's birthday was Flag Day, June 14th. Check it out, it's in several of the stories. Maggie's birthday is... June 14th. How's that for a coincidence?

On to the good stuff in the Clobberin' Times!

I posted it a bit early last time, but in case you missed it take a gander at "Fielder's Choice".

New this time is a tale in which Americana faces... well, let's just say that Americana hasn't had one of these weekends in quite a while. Join us as she meets a real "Jurassic Dork".

When Americana is faced with a mad bomber's plot, she is drawn into a trap engineered by the most dangerous villain of all! Well, he thinks he's the most dangerous! Yes, Aaron, this story is especially for YOU! Meet Sean Strickland..."Son of Sonic Man!". How sweet it is!

Lastly, did you ever want to see Americana get in a fight at an old abandoned amusement park? Well, this is your lucky day! Too bad Americana's not quite as enthused about learning the secrets behind the "Carnival of Doom!".

Even more artwork in the Americana art galleries, and this time a whole mess of it's in color! Woo hoo - check it out in Americana's Art Gallery #14!

And there's even a couple in Americana's Art Gallery #15!

Oh, and yes that is a drawing of Americana holding the Olympic logo for 2016. Chicago is America's competition city for the Olympics that year, and the decision will be made by 2010. Frankly, I think we'd do a great job as Olympic host, though Maggie is already moaning about "all that traffic!" What, nine years from now? Heh.

Well, that's it for this time! See you in Seattle, Forte!

A-a-a-and let's go Cubs!!
