Merry Christmas from this twenty-second edition of... Son of Thunder!

Well, the Cubs managed to bow out in three games, which is a pretty neat trick considering how many they won in the regular season. Whether they had too much time until the playoffs or were coasting or just plain weren't that good - that's why they play the games.

Okay. I know it looks like I've been doing nothing but writing stories and commissioning drawings, but the truth is a little more obtuse.

A lot of these drawings haven't been seen for at least fifteen years. There's artwork from Times favorites Tim Watts, Jim McClain, Ben Bellot, Mike Barrett aka Sable, Mark Place, and myself, KC Ryan. There's group shots by Greg Wronchek and beautiful color shots - done in two days! - by David Enciso. Not to mention Aaron Lopresti, Linda Medley, chuck Wotkiewicz, and many more! Wonders abound in the Forte Universe!

And Americana's well-represented, too! (Just had to wait for the storylines to catch up!) There's a number of shots by Eryck Webb, Tim Watts, Sable, Greg sportelli, and many more! All in Americana's Art Gallery #21 and #22!

And as for stories?

How's all NEW adventures of Portland's favorite protectors grab ya? You've been reading about the Four Aces for over twenty years - now discover Who They Are and How They Came to Be, in The Four Aces: Origins!

The Justice Squadron is back in action, too, this time featuring the Sonic Sensation, El Sonido! Cats rescued from trees! A visit to... The Kitchen! All this and Sorciere de Lumiere and Wrangler too, in The Sound of Silence!

And we're not forgetting everyone's favorite Defender of Democracy!

Americana finds herself facing off against the King's new henchwomen, the Queens of Steel! It's a Christmas present Americana isn't likely to forget, as she faces (or does she?) Noel Hell's Belles!

Sometimes, even Americana likes to just relax and take a nice flight around the city, seeing Washington from her unique perspective. She even drops in on Abdul for a fallafel while on A Flight at Year's End!

It's the end of the year, and Americana is in for a whole new interpretation of the term, Boxing Day!

Here's wishing everyone the happiest of holidays. May you and yours share all the season's joys!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
